Warner Bros. has set a release date for their Tom and Jerry movie. It's going to be a live-action, animated film set to hit theaters April 16, 2021. The movie is based on the Hanna Barbera cartoons cartoons that started i the 1940's. Hanna Barbera was also the mastermind behind The Smurf, The Jetsons, and The Flinstones. Personally, I'm still waiting for a new The Jetsons movie.

The Blonds Runway show was a Disney Dream Come True... Or Nightmare.


Almost every New York Fashion Week The Blonds, Phillipe Blond and creative director David Blond have a themed runway show. This year for their Spring/Summer 2019 collection it is Disney's Villains. I had the pleasure of witnessing many of their runways in person though sadly I couldn't attend this year. One thing I've always admired is their insane attention to detail that you can spot anywhere from the fabrics, hair, and nails. I think they have the best nail designs of all the New York Fashion Week runway shows.  

Tonights 'Couch Gag' on The Simpsons is going to be extra fun for me because... it's by one of my favorite animators Bill Plympton! I can't stop playing it over & over. It's a great piece of surreal art and kind of mesmerizing.

The Anime NYC Convention powered by Crunchyroll looks like it was so much fun! There was a nice variety of creative cosplay outfits and a vast amount of kawaii booths to satisfy any of your anime needs. It showcased the best of Japanese pop culture and featured unique exhibits, exclusive screenings, controversial panels, and so much knowledge from wall to wall! The halls were full of comicbooks, movies, clothing, plush animals, action figures, home decor... pretty much anything you can think of. My brother and longtime Nubia's Nonsense contributing photographer Daniel Mejia, stopped by the convention on my behalf to capture the energy.

Can It Be That It Was All So Simple Then...

Life is so hectic these days with what feels like a tsunami of technology and social media trying to drag me away into the abyss. I'm sure many of you can relate. I often think back to my childhood and simpler times. Some of those simpler times include Nickelodeon cartoons! Thinking back, I believe I've always loved style, fashion, and beauty as well... my mom is Colombian (duh). Anyway, gosh I loved watching The Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Hey Arnold, just to name a few. 

I was so excited and maybe a little emotional to see that Spencer's is carrying a line of Nickelodeon Fashion merchandise. Talk about a #throwback. I'm coveting a few pieces for sure. The collection includes a variety of men's and women's tees, backpacks, socks, posters, & more. The graphic tees are so much fun and I've always appreciated a good backpack. I think I might even want to get my hands on some of the men's shirts to wear myself because I love the prints. 

To me, style has always been about wearing things that not only look good but essentially make me happy. It's a form a therapy and these pieces make me smile! Love Is In The Air ... 
Valentine's Day is among us and I am dateless! Where will my chocolates, flowers, and shiny gifts be? My boyfriend will be working all night and I will be working all day. Therefore I might have a little something at home waiting for me haha (I better).Spare me with all of the "I don't celebrate Valentine's Day" "We celebrate love everyday" blah blah blah crap. Though to be honest, I do agree love should be celebrated everyday and to be quite frank I never cared much for Valentine's Day gifts. A simple hand written card or something creative would do the job for me. HOWEVER, It's hard not to get a little bittersweet and feel down because brace yourself... you will be seeing tons of affection all around you everywhere! Online, on the streets, in your nightmares... EVERYWHERE. The hugs, holding hands, gazing into each others eyes, kissing, the list goes on. 

For the reasons above, I have decided to share some tips on how to spend an awesome Valentine's Day alone.

I have always loved Dr. Martens boots. They're like a go-to item in my closet. Every girl should own a pair of their bulky black boots with the yellow lining... they literally go with everything I swear! Imagine my excitement when I learned about Dr. Martens X Adventure Time! It's like a wish come true I didn't even know I was hoping for yet. 


It's no secret that Adventure Time is one of the coolest main stream cartoons that Cartoon Network has graced us with in the last few years. All the characters are so lovable and special in their own way... you sympathize with them as strange and funny as that sounds.

Hey Nubians,

OH JOY! The excitement of the first day of New York Comic Con 2014 was upon me again today. I didn't have much time to plan my cosplay (costume play) out how I originally wanted to so I looked on the interwebs for something to inspire me. As I was walking around my room I walked by a POP ART book I had and a light bulb instantly lit up in my head Roy Lichtenstein! Mr. Popular in the 1960s art scene right up there with Andy Warhol. I immediately thought what a great DIY costume this would be.

I had originally planned to do the make-up on my own but my friend Mary designer of gla.MAR.ous clothing told me should would be stopping by Comic Con and would love to do it for me... What a relief for me! I through on my Stop Staring Red Polka dot dress and through on a wig i purchased yesterday at a Halloween Pop up Shop and BAM! there you go my friends.

It was pretty popular as I went around and got stopped for photos by a lot of people so I'm super stoked they liked the costume as much as I did.
