Child's Play is out today, and so is Toy Story 4. We've all seen the Child's Play poster that plays with the concept of killing Toy Story characters; it is horror after all. I'm sure Woody and Buzz aren't thrilled at the thought of Chucky murdering all of their friends. Now here's another way to kick this concept up a notch. Lee Hardcastle teamed up with Orion Pictures to bring you a big Andy's Room Welcome with Child's Play CLAYMATION: 'A Big Chucky Welcome.'

If you're a horror movie fan or happen to love reading Stephen King novels, you must be anxiously waiting for IT Chapter Two to hit theatres. Pennywise is such an iconic, twisted character making people afraid of clowns worldwide. I can't wait to see how he'll haunt the kids, now grownups, from Derry next.

Flash Review: Quick And To The Point.
Slashers are highly beloved in the world of horror. I recently watched Slasher: Solstice, Season 3 on Netflix. Slasher originally debuted on Chiller before it found its new home. If you're into seriously gruesome murder scenes, I'd absolutely give it the time of day. If you're looking for a solid story... it's not the worst. Read my flash review below and find out why.

This post will be short and sweet yet very needed. I love horror movies. I've always been a fan of Chucky from Child's Play. Growing up, I would also get so excited to watch DC Comics Batman The Animated Series. Today my brother forwarded me an Instagram post saying Mark Hamill would be the voice of Chucky in the new Child's Play movie and I was hype so hype! It's like the best of both worlds have collided.

Just because you love horror doesn't mean you don't get scared!

Staying at a place where something tragic has recently occurred is scary as hell.  Whether it's a home or a hotel, you will walk through a thick fog of fear in the air. You will feel overly paranoid and all your senses will be tingling.  The thought of someone still lingering around trying to hurt people is terrifying. Also, you probably can't help but think about the way victims may have been hurt or murdered. It's a dangerous black hole of thoughts and you will get sucked in. It's inevitable.

Recently I went to Las Vegas and the day I arrived at the hotel where I was staying, I turned on the TV and learned that 2 tourists had been stabbed to death the day before. I instantly felt my stomach churn and felt goosebumps all over my body. The murderer was still on the loose. Needless to say, I did not feel comfortable at all and was freaking out a bit. Hearing about the tourist and what they went through was not only extremely sad but also heartbreaking.

I didn't stay in the same room where this incident occurred, but being on the property alone was bad enough. The hotel beefed up the security but sometimes that doesn't help your psyche much when somethings been so recent.

I can only imagine moving into a home where someone has recently been murdered is much worse because you literally have to stand over where the grueling event happened. If you're a person like myself who believes in ghost, spirits, and energies floating around...it only makes it a MILLION TIMES WORSE.

Here are my top tips on dealing with a place where someone has recently been murdered.

1) Burn A Candle or Sage.
  • I burned a YES YOU CAN.DLE aromatherapy candle in the hotel room almost every day! The 100% natural essential oils in the candles have calming and healing properties. Breathing in a refreshing, clean smell is also uplifting. If this event happened in a place I lived, I would definitely burn sage (AKA Smudging.) This is known to cleanse your aura and clear your space of anything negative. And frankly, if you don't believe in any of this... it just feels nice to do which automatically makes you feel better.

2) Never Ever Stay In A Silent Room.
  • Silence is your worst enemy at a time like this. You will pick up even the smallest of sounds and think someone is trying to kill you. You will hear neighbors opening their door and think someone is trying to break into yours. This doesn't mean you have to blast music but have something playing in the background. If you're trying to sleep, set your TV on a timer to automatically shut off or fall asleep to the 'Peaceful' or 'Nature Sounds' station on Pandora.

3) Take Shorter Showers.
  • I've talked to so many people about this and taking a shower is the worst when you're scared. And having to wash your hair? Forget about it. Every time you close your eyes you think "That's it, I'm dead". It's kind of funny because it's a little ridiculous but it happens to so many of us! I would say stick to shorter showers until you feel a little safer. You'll be doing the environment a favor as well which technically makes you a better human being.

4) Keep Your Mind Busy.
  • Try the best you can to have fun. Make plans for the month ahead, read a book, take some photos if your room has cool decor... just get out of your own head. I would often take photos in my room or call my friends and family to catch up. It helps a ton to be entertained so your brain isn't automatically making you see red. I would stay away from the news for a while... anything truly important going on in the world you'll find out from your friends or family. Keeping a phone around is also crucial to call for help if needed.

5) Hide Weapons.
  • I sleep with mase next to my bed every night regardless of any tragic events that may have happened. But if you're feeling unsafe it doesn't hurt to hide some weapons under your pillow, bed, or in any room that you feel you can hide in.

6) Always Triple Check Your Locks and Windows.
  • This is last but certainly not least. This is the most important way to protect yourself from home invasion. If you have sliding doors or window, put a wooden or metal stick on the bottom so it can't slide if someone tries to open it. Make sure your doors aren't just shut but fully locked! If you're in a hotel, put your luggage in front of your door so you feel like you would hear something fall if someone attempted something. Hopefully, it never comes to that but it would buy you time.

If you're wondering, I'm totally fine thank goodness. The hotel murder was caught in a few days too which is the best one can hope for after such a tragedy. But I wanted to write this article because I know that feeling scared and unsafe truly sucks! I hope this helps someone who needs it.

Hey Nubians,

LOVE IS SCARY.

Do you date or are you married to a Sci-Fi / Horror Freak & Geek? I love a good or classic horror movie. I say "or classic" because let's face it, some of them suck but we love them anyway. I believe horror memorabilia make great Valentine's Day gifts! Why you ask? Because horror, just like love, allows us to release some of our most intimate, vulnerable feelings. In addition, you always want to kill people you love one way or another... get real. Enjoy this horror gift guide and get freaky this Valentine's Day.

Halloween might have been yesterday, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little Michael Myers in your life all your round thanks to Mezco Toyz.

This one is for my horror & action figure fans! John Carpenter debuted his film "Halloween" in October 1978. Little did he know that he had created a masterpiece for horror culture many pay homage to in their own films till this day. He also created a die hard (like Michael) fandom of Michael Myers fans. Michael Myers is terrifying. Though I am a fan, if I saw someone seriously approaching me dressed as Michael Myers and not uttering a word, I would probably run for the hills and never look back. Michael was a twisted, mysterious little boy from Haddonfield who killed his older sister and became a crazy, murderous, soul less eyed adult who wore a white mask and was often referred to as "The Shape"... he was also trying to kill the other sister he left behind.

The story of everyday girls like you and I, in a little town who worked as babysitters getting murdered on a mans quest to kill his sister seemed pretty possible which made this story quite scary. Long story short, Michael Myers is a horror icon and the Mezco Toyz 'The One:12 Collective Michael Myers Halloween' figure will mesmerize you. It's truly beautiful in the creepiest way possible. The details will knock you out your socks. His eyes still piercing as ever. The figure also brings great accessories from the film like the ghost sheet & Judith Myers tombstone.

"Ki, ki, ki, ma, ma, ma." -Jason Voorhees

Can't blame a girl for loving a classic horror move like Friday The 13th right?  How could I resist the Jason cameo! Shortly after going through a traumatic experience with pet loss and my now beloved and greatly missed Chihuahua dog angel Bambi, my boyfriend thought it would be a good time to take a quick little trip to get me out the house and into a different atmosphere. So sweet of him and honestly, he was probably right about the timing... sometimes we don't know what's best for us in times of despair.

He took me to Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. We used to go there often because my boyfriend plays poker and there's also a variety of things you can enjoy. They have a Tanger Outlet Mall, nice restaurants, all sorts of casino games, music performances, stand up shows, golf, bowling,  and of course a spa and a gym just to name a few. Plus if you feel like being adventurous you're by the woods! They have marked trails you can walk at your own risk. Of course I would be careful because I wouldn't want a real like horror movie on my hands.

The first night we were at Foxwoods we stayed at the Two Trees Inn which really is like a little cabin styled hotel. It felt nice to sit by the warm fire and just relax. Two Trees Inn offers a complimentary shuttle ride to the casino which is less than 10 minutes away. The second night we were there, we stayed at the Grand Pequot Tower inside the casino which was very nice and more on the elegant side I guess you could say.

I was pretty casual and cool during my trip and didn't feel like getting too done up. I didn't wear any makeup besides a orange toned Revlon lipstick. I sported a pair of Levi's shorts, a tank top from H&M, a thrifted sheer shirt with a floral pattern, some black Jordan sneakers and a hat with the Korean finger symbol of 'love' on it.

Truly for me this trip was about relaxing and trying to get my mind right more than anything else. George did most of the gambling and I dabbled a bit. Mainly on this ocassion I enjoyed spending time in my room working and cherishing the view of what seemed to be an endless amount of trees from my window. I checked out the Tanger Outlet Mall where I purchased a pair of Nike sneakers and another pair of sneakers from Under Armour.

While we were there we ate at Golden Dragon which is a Chinese restaurant and we also took a short detour before we left at the Arcade and played some old school Nintendo games. It's nice to take it back sometimes... Super Mario Bros is the best!

It was a quick little get away and is perfect for anyone located in areas such as New York or New Jersey and find themselves needing to escape the daily grind and relax. Remember to take care of you!

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

"Listen sister, if I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you." -Elvira

Some of you may know I am a HUGE horror fan so naturally I got hyped last Halloween when I saw LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs introduced Mistress Of The Dark, Elvira’s very own specialty makeup palette! Elvira AKA Cassandra Peterson, is known as a Queen in the horror realm and the "Queen of Halloween". She has always been a hostess with a very vampy & sexy look and a lot of sass. That wonderfully creepy lady sure knew how to entertain her viewers. I'm sure all the goth boys probably had a crush on her! Non goth too.  I haven't seen enough write ups on this palette so even though it's a few months old, I thought I'd share it with you all just in case you missed it. Plus I love how LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs celebrate horror fans through beauty.

"All of us at LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs are honored to collaborate & celebrate with one of the “greatest of the great” horror icons going back 35 years! In commemorating these awe inspiring 35 years…we introduce, Mistress Of The Dark, Elvira’s very own specialty makeup palette!  We are honored at LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs to introduce with “the one and only” Elvira, our gorgeous, custom, limited edition, (coffin shaped, of course) make up palette honoring the many roles, our inspiring, late night horror hostess/actress, Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) has brought into all of our lives. "

Did I mention this product is talc free, paraben free, vegan and cruelty free?! The LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs Mistress Of The Dark Elvira palette features colors that the character wears herself. Nothing too bubbly of course, but there is a gorgeous shade of blue in there I have my eye on... and may be on my eyelids soon. There are also red tones, black, and white. The coffin shape of the palette is perfection of course and a brand signature.

Here is a beautiful photo of the makeup being worn I pulled from the LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs website. The colors blend very nicely and seem to have good pigmentation.

You may also enjoy some bad ass Elvira quotes hidden under the palette!

The palette is limited edition and limited quantity so if you're a fan, better order it asap!
You can head on over HERE to order.

Have an amazing, spooky day!

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Where there is no imagination there is no horror.
-Arthur Conan Doyle

I saw the Tales From The Crypt Concept Trailer by M. Night Shyamalan which will air on TNT and I must say as a horror fan I am immensely excited. I will be glued to my television! This show the same as the original which aired on HBO from 1989 to 1996 will be based on the popular comic series from EC Comics. I've always been so interested in M. Night Shyamalan and have so much respect for him because he's a risk taker and I love that! He might not have as many 'hits' as some other directors but he has a deek, dark, and vivid imagination. I would love to pick his brain. I recently watch "Split" which I enjoyed and was very creepy & "The Visit". Both of them had an interesting twist.

See the concept video for Tales From The Crypt:

It looks so damn good! Thought I do fear that fact that it will be on TNT but hopefully that won't be a huge deal. This trailer showed suspense, freaky shit like people in a trance jumping off buildings or in gas masks, insects, the forest, paranormal aspects, & more. I like how M. Night Shyamalan mentioned that Tales From The Crypt was before it's time because I'd have to say I agree. I also likes how he refers to the Crypt Keeper as a "Dark Walt Disney" because Walt Disney was a person who was a great host and took us to this magical, wonderful place he created. I believe the Crypt Keeper does the same in taking us to a dark and eery place where we have to face our fears and he hypnotizes us and locks us in. I remember when I was younger I would turn on the original Tales From The Crypt on HBO sometimes (my parents weren't aware I was doing this) and I would have to turn it off at some point of the episode because I couldn't deal with the fear that was building up in my body. I would feel my heart slowly beating harder and harder against my chest. What is it about fear that almost makes it such an adrenaline rush. I remember closing my eyes slowly trying to fall asleep that night and then quickly opening them because I FELT the fear. I felt like there was something in the room with me. Probably not the best feeling for a young girl haha but I have been a horror fan my whole life growing up after that.

And I very much did love the Crypt Keeper because he was wicked. I use the word 'wicked' because he was scary but laughed about it and has quite the humor. He laughed at your fear and toiled with your emotions. He was an entertainer! I'm very please that M. Night Shyamalan is keeping this classic character as part of the show.

Now, Here's Why Horror Fans Will Enjoy This Much More Than American Horror Story... It's Quite Simple Really... IT ACTUALLY LOOKS SCARY.

(This clown was pretty freaky though)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing American Horror Story at all. I'm a fan of the show and have watched every season. It's just that I don't find it very scary truly. I look at it more like creepy, bloody, story telling. But it doesn't do 'that thing' for me. That thing that makes terror seep into my brain and crawl under my skin. I do think most seasons have had good story telling, and they have a stellar cast. I love Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and look forward to the return of Jessica Lange hopefully and maybe even Connie Britton now that she's done with Nashville. I find it entertaining more then anything else with a bit of blood splatter. Take AHS season 3 for example 'Coven', I enjoyed it but it was like a mix of Mean Girls mixed with The Craft. For reasons like these, I believe true horror fans will enjoy the Tales From The Crypt reboot more. I believe M. Night Shyamalan has a vision that we're all going to be pleased with. I guess we'll see if I'm right or wrong. I will continue watching American Horror Story because I enjoy it regardless (even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Roanoke.)

Anyway, I'm super excited for Tales From The Crypt to begin and I hope M. Night Shyamalan makes it genius.

Will you be watching? Thoughts?

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Relax. Refresh. Renew.

Hey Nubians,

Trick or Treat? I'm sure most of you ladies are getting comfortable with the Fall season. Looking through your clothing and pulling out all of your light jackets and sweaters, figuring out what trends you want to follow, denim? velour? So many options. I just flew back to Las Vegas from New York and it's already getting pretty chilly out there. Vegas is slowly getting nippy too.

Also let's talk Halloween! I LOVE Halloween. Probably more than Christmas. One of my favorite things to do besides going out to enjoy the fun decorations is staying home and watching retro Halloween cartoons and films. I like watching the friendly films such as Hocus Pocus but then I also like watching the more brutal films like Halloween/Michael Myers & A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I think my style...

Hey Nubians,

I was really bummed to have missed The Chucky 25th Anniversary Panel at New York Comic Con. I was emailed a video that played at some point during the panel and is freaking AMAZING. I introduce to you "THE CHUCKY MEGAMIX" by Mike Relm. I really enjoyed watching it and it has some super catchy music I want to put on my iPod. Being the Child's Play fan that I am, I was quite saddened I didn't make it but watching this video certainly cheered me up.

Halloween is around the corner kiddies, Get in the spirit.

To read about The Chucky 25th Anniversary panel head over to Geeks of DOOM HERE.
