The 80s baby!

I love being able to do my own nails and Sally Hansen always helps. Besides having gorgeous nail colors I grew up with, they've recently released glow in the dark neon nail appliques.

There's Nothing More Fun Than A Pop Of Color!

I love giving myself little D.I.Y. Manicures. Taking care of your nails is key girls! No one wants to look at busted hands. We don't all have enough time to go get mani's done constantly, and honestly, sometimes I rather be in the comfort of my home.

Hey Nubians,

Do you love DIY nails? I know I do! I also enjoy fun, fashionable trends.

Take a look at this super cute manicure trend you can successfully do in your own home, the Manicure Ombre Trend! Sally Hansen Global Color Ambassador Madeline Poole takes the latest fashion trends from the runway, to your nails. This month, her recommendation is Ombre. Perfect for the Spring/Summer Season because it's so much fun to play with bright and bold colors. Lately I haven't been doing my nails because I've been painting and creating cool art but I think I'll have to try out the Ombre trend ASAP!

Nails Inspired By Hair And Fashion

Madeline developed this vibrant nail look for Monse's spring/summer 2017 NYFW show. Her inspiration for the look were the bold colors from this season's catwalks, and the ombre-dyed hairstyles of the stylish women on New York City's sidewalks.

Want to get the look yourself? Here's How - Madeline's Ombre mani is simple to achieve at home with no special tools required, just a regular makeup sponge. Featuring Auran't You Relaxed, Teal Good and Robes and Rosé, this take on Ombre is the perfect pop of color for any summer outfit.

Step 1: Apply Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail & Cuticle Oil and massage onto cuticle area. Remove thoroughly from nail plate with alcohol or nail polish remover before painting.

Step 2:  Apply 2 coats of Sally Hansen Color Therapy in Auran't You Relaxed.
Step 3:  Use a makeup sponge cut in half to lightly apply Sally Hansen Color Therapy in Robes and Rosé. Concentrate the color towards the middle of the nail and blend upward towards the free edge.
Step 4: To create a smoother blend, pour out a small puddle of Sally Hansen Color Therapy in Auran't You Relaxed and apply a mixture of bright pink and darker pink to the center of the nail where the two colors meet. This will allow for a smoother blend.
Step 5:  Repeat this step with the teal color - Sally Hansen Color Therapy in Teal Good. Continue blending colors until you're satisfied with the transition.
Step 6: After allowing the nails to dry 5 minutes apply Sally Hansen Color Therapy Top Coat to further blend and seal colors together.

Have fun! Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Spring Has Sprung!

I'm so happy it's Spring! Spring is such a transformation season and all over healthy for the soul. People are itching to switch up their fashion, hair and makeup. It's a great time to create an inspirational vision board and see what attracts you. As most of you know, I love colors. Spring is a great time to break out some cute pastel colors.

I noticed when it comes to beauty, Sally Hansen and Rimmel London have some gorgeous pastel colors you might want to pick up right now especially considering easter is around the corner.

Rimmel London: From total babe Kate Moss Nude’s Collection, these beautiful neutral pastels will add just the right amount of spring to your lips! These are the shades #40 and #41. 40 probably wouldn't work great with my complexion but it's still a great color.

The pink below is precious. It's from Rimmel London's new Oh My Gloss Oil Tint Collection. I believe the cover girl for this collection is Rita Ora.

Sally Hansen always nails (no pun intended) Spring time with their beautifully pigmented and innovative nail color collections! They are one of my favorite drug store brands. I remember when I was younger, it was always my mom's and my favorite go-to brand for color and quality. These shades are perfection from their Insta-Dri and Miracle Gel collections.

These are some cool drug store purchases that cost 10 dollars or less each. Looking fab on a budget is a good way to start the new season. Plus that means extra money for traveling :)

Who's super happy it's Spring?!?!

Hey Nubians,

By Halloween Nails, I Meant A Sweet Cameo By Michael Myers Himself!

I wanted to give myself a 'Fall is approaching' manicure but didn't want to go straight for orange or hunter green which are usually my go-to colors. I decided to do a cool grey nail. I had the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color 'Show Steeler' nail polish which I had never used and it was just what I was looking for. Perfection. I love the color! It's a little something different. It dries very quickly which is a big perk for my clumsy butt and it has a pretty shine to it without needing a clear top coat. My nails feel so pretty. I'm very picky with nail polish but I highly recommend the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line. I've had good experiences with it. I despise when the color on my nails chips quickly and that doesn't happen with Insta-Dri.

Hey Nubians,

Its the Care Bear Countdown... 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!

Aren't these nails so super cute!?!? Perfect for Spring too. They're press-ons I found at a random 99 cent store. Though I love getting a nice gel manicure done every so often at a salon, I hate the procedure (I have no patience). These press-on nails do the job and they last a few days. They're also only 99 cents for about 5-7 days as opposed to 40 dollars for 14 days.

Anyway, the pretty pastel colors from my mani remind me of the Care Bears. I used to love watching the cartoons as a little girl, it sent out such a positive message of expressing your feelings and emotions.

'Each Care Bear comes in a different color and has a specialized insignia on its belly that represents its duty and personality.'

I always say live your life through colors, emotion, and a dash of glitter.

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

"Nails Are The Period At The End Of A Sentence. They Complete The Look"

It's been a while since I've done a Manicure Monday, it's probably because I've turned to the world of gel nails. As much as I love switching up my nail polish every week, the sad truth is I just don't have time! Not to do them nicely anyway.

My inspiration behind these nails is Spring! I'm so eager to smell Spring in the air. I miss Spring in NY. It's not quite the same in Vegas. Here in Las Vegas we already have Spring weather right now.

I adore pastel colors and added the silver to give the mani a little extra spark. I got these done at a Salon and the gel nail polish brand I used is OPI.

I'm thinking of getting a gel lamp and starting to do my own nails soon... We'll see.

Waiting for Spring claws 💅🏼 #pastels #mani

Hello Nubians,

It's Almost Time For New Years!

New Years is a fun time for everyone. We like to celebrate amongst friends and loved ones. We make resolutions and dance away the end of a year and the beginning of a fresh new one. New Years brings a lot of feelings to the surface and one of them is excitement!

Women especially like to glam up for the occasion. It's another excuse for us to go a bit over the top in the hair, makeup, and clothing department. I like to pay attention to detail and even like to do something a bit loud with my nails. You can go to a nail salon and get a nice manicure or the quickest fix I can offer you is some glitter nails! I gave myself a quick glitter manicure last night using Sally Hansen All Bright pink as my bottom coat and Sinful Colors Pride glitter nail polish as my top coat.

I think the only thing I might change perhaps is that for New Years I might buy some plain press-ons, paint them myself, and then use my KISS nail glue to apply. I may buy some press-ons too and get a little artsy. Below I'm featuring some New Year nail inspiration I found on Pinterest. All you have to do is simply change the year to 2016 and BOOM!

Which of these is your favorites? Think you'll try any of them out?

Cheers!

The Press-Ons Obsession Continues...

This weeks nails are all about metallics. Lately I've been talking so much about how press-ons have been my ultimate go-to nail hack for a beautiful manicure in minimal time. I also swear by my Kiss Maximum Speed Nail Glue to keep the press-ons put and make them last long.

Purple is one of my favorite colors and I love the touch of silver. This manicure gives me 90s vibes and sort of remind me of a disco ball ha ha.

If you'd like to find some awesome press-ons, some of my favorite spots are Target and online on Ebay. To find some cool press-ons for .99 cents you can check out The Dollar Tree or Lot-Less.

Cheers!

Time to show you my Golden Girl Manicure!

Ok, ok, not those Golden Girls, even though that would have been pretty freaken awesome! One of my go to beauty hacks when you want beautiful, unique flawless nails is applying press ons. It's the closet thing to a professional DIY manicure.

I often buy a bunch and of press on sets and stock up on them when I find a good deal. This week I applied a pair of gold Pretty Woman 3D Droplet Nails that I found at Lot-Less for $1.00. The reason that's such a sweet deal is because the nails have a 3D effect on them where it looks like they have water drops on the nails that pop out. The pack brings 24 nails and glue which is very helpful. I thought gold was a good color to apply this week because I've been in the holiday groove.

Even though the kit brings it's own glue, I am very faithful to the KISS Maximum Speed nail glue. It works extremely quick and last very long for me so I always keep one around.

After applying...

See the pretty drops. So cute!

These press ons fit nicely and feel sturdy. If you see them around, you should pick up a pair. Especially for .99 cents, they're such a steal.

Cheers!

Hello Nubians,

Dream A Little Dream.

I wanted to do an Instagram Sunday recap post, I haven't done one of these in a while. When I don't post on my blog, I'm usually posting random things on instagram from fashion, style, beauty, makeup, decor, things that inspire me and so forth. So I'm either drinking a coffee from my Ninja Turtles mug or dreaming of outer space, it's all good.

If you don't follow me on Instagram, click on over here => @NubiasNonsense

I went to the Dollar Tree and purchased these faux flowers. They're so pretty because they don't look overly fake. I stuck them in a pretty wine bottle I had laying around. I like to save them for DIY purposes.

Half up half down hairstyle. Still playing around with all the colors in my hair. I love them!

I wish I was this pretty lady just hanging out on another planet sometimes.

The LINQ in Las Vegas always looks beautiful on the holidays and pretty much everyday. They'll probably add more decorations soon.

Whenever I'm having a lazy hair day, I love using my gla.MAR.ous wraps. They're cute and turn almost anything into an acceptable hair style.

This horror movie Christmas sweater is to die for!!! (get it) You'll probably see it again on my wish list if it's not sold out by then. Something you can wear year round.

*Dream a little Dream*

Coffee break.

My Ipsy package from November, I think my favorite item here was the lipstick.

So funny. Kitchen humor.

Hot chocolate with my friend Jasmin.

A photo from October I never posted. My Marvel's Ghost Rider Cosplay with my babies Bambi and Nala.

What have you been up to this weekend? Happy Holidays!

Cheers!

Who's excited about Christmas and the holidays in general?

I am! Thats for sure. I personally celebrate Christmas and its tons of fun. The holidays affect the way I dress, do my hair & makeup, my mood, pretty much everything. People like to say that there's magic in the air during the holidays and I'd like to think thats true because I think I can feel it ;-).

This post in particular is about holiday nails! It is Mani Monday after all and I love a good manicure. I went looking online for inspiration and founds tons of beautiful nails for some holiday cheer. Some of this nail art is very easy to do yourself and some you can probably just buy online such as press-ons. After Thanksgiving I plan to do my first nail real christmas inspired manicure.

I hope you get inspired below! Let me know if you do.

Reindeer nails are very simple to do. You just need the right colors, a small brush and a bit of patience. This Rudolph the red nose reindeer manicure is totes kawaii.

Snowmen nails are a must! Snow is like little pieces of angel dust gracing you with it's presence (until the next day when it looks like crap). You can get creative with this. I love the silver and white combo in the photo below.

Press-On nails are always a quick and reliable option. You can find so many great designs on Etsy. I found this photo via google images and I thought it had a nice array of everything from Santa to snowflakes and candy canes etc.

Tree light nails are soooo cute and extremely easy. I'm going to totally try this out.

Go green nails! Try trees or just red and green glitter. Traditional colors are always nice.

Lastly don't forget about Santa nails! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Happy Holidays my loves!

Cheers!
