Hey Nubians,

You Can Never Have Too Many Shoes ...

A few weeks ago I went to Donald Pliner event At The Forum Shops Las Vegas to get a sneak peek of their Pre Fall Shoe Collection. I was absolutely smitten with everything! I can definitely appreciate a well made, fashionable shoe. From sandals, oxfords, boots, and more, Donald Pliner shoes stay on trend and many of them dare to be different and break the mold with stitching and patterns that make them unique. Beautiful detail will make this shoe collection something you'll covet for Fall.

A variety of these pumps take inspiration from the 60s. I admire 60s trends probably more than I like most trends from today therefore, this immediately made me excited to see more. The fur embellishment on heels and flats trend has been back for a few months and it looks like it will extend until the end of the year. The silhouette on these shoes is sexy too! I dream of having a few of these in my closet. I had a blast mingling with a few Las Vegas Bloggers, trying on shoes from the current and Pre Fall collection, sipping and margaritas and enjoying music... talk about the definition of a great evening right?!

I was chatting with a few bloggers and this gorgeous shade of pink is a fan favorite.

These little loafers with the dots on them look like something from outer space. Again, it makes me think of 60s mod fashion. So much fun!

These works of art are available for pre-order now with a delivery date of early August. I can promise you one thing, wearing one of these Donald Pliner shoes this Fall will definitely make a few people break their neck trying to check out your shoes! This is a quality shoe that will last you a long time. Head on over and shop.

Want to know another great thing about this event? A portion of the sales from this event benefited a non-profit organization called Dopamind Boxing & Cycling. Dopamind Boxing and Cycling helps adults suffering from Parkinson’s by training them with non contact boxing and cycling classes. It helps improve their movement and balance. It's also a different and refreshing approach to help someone with Parkinson’s by making them feel in charge and independent. The non contact boxing and spin classes has helped improve Parkinson's symptoms such as motor function and coordination. They offer both group and individual work out classes so if you know someone suffering from Parkinson's who wants to try something new, please spread the word.

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Because Life Is Too Short To Wear Boring Shoes...

I've been a fan or Irregular Choice Shoes for obvious reasons. I love interesting articles of fashion that translate stories. I've never been a boring dresser (only if required by work, womp!). Irregular Choice Shoes take me on an adventure! There is so much going on in the structure of one shoe. They also offer every kind of shoe: heels, sneakers, flats, boots and so on. The shoes sometimes have characters or animals as heels, characters such as Disney's Cinderella trapped in wedges in the most enchanting manner, unicorn horns, fur, glitter and so much more. You can literally wear all black and have these shoes make your whole outfit. They're like art for your feet.

LEGO Slippers Can Make A lot Of Us 'Ouch' A Little Less.

These LEGO slippers are pretty damn cool. I read publications spreading the news about these a few days ago and all the headlines spoke all about how fortunate and great these are for parents... what about for kids and teens?! They should make these in all sizes!

When I was younger, I very much enjoyed playing with LEGO's. I used to try to build houses and communities... they're a great toy to be creative with. However, I used to step on them all the time! It was always so painful and annoying.

According to piwee.net, the LEGO brand has teamed up with French advertising agency Brand Station to create 1,500 pairs of the slippers with extra padding to prevent the pain you get from steeping on a LEGO. The slippers will be distributed randomly to people who fill out a Christmas wish list on the LEGO France website.

They'll make fun little Christmas gifts and hopefully they continue making them in different styles.

What do you guys think? Hit or miss?

Cheers!

Tis The Season!

December is probably the most important time of the year to make sure you have gorgeous shoes for holiday parties. You definitely need some heels a bit more on the glitz and glam side of the fashion world. Something that'll catch peoples eye and will get you a nice complement. Having beautiful shoes on your feet that sparkle a bit doesn't necessarily mean you have to break the bank. Below I'm sharing 5 shoes I found online that will be great for all your christmas and holiday party needs.

Gliding In Gold.
These heels are dainty and fun! They have a playful little bow and an ankle strap that always makes your legs look sexier ;-) The RHIANNON Bow Skinny Sandals are available at TopShop HERE for only $75.00.

Oh La La.
These thigh high boots are HOT to say the least. Very seductive. All the sequins will absolutely make these an eye opener. Finished with a pointy toe box and a stiletto heel, these are a steal at $57.47 at Go Jane HERE.

Strappy Girl.
Feminine and edgy for the smart fashionista. Find these bad boys at ALDO's for only $62.99 HERE.
Pretty In Pink.
These snake skin platforms will be like a party for your feet! Sure pink isn't red, green or gold, but girls should be able to wear pink year round! Find these at H&M for 34.99 HERE.
Fringe Binge.
This is where elegant meets boho. Can't you feel the fringe moving around as you're walking already. Work girl! You can find these at Express for 89.60 HERE.
Hope you found something you love or at least got inspired my dears!

Hey Nubians,

If you're looking for a pair of bad ass, amazing, great quality shoes perfect for Fall fashion, check out Donald J Pliner.

About a week ago I moseyed myself over to The Forum Shops at Caesars, Las Vegas to the Donald J Pliner boutique. I attended an event to support JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund) where 10% of all sales went to JDRF!

Donald J Pliner is an intriguing, interesting man. He is also extremely kind and a sharp dresser. Totally love him!

While at the event,  I bumped into Christie from I Can Style U and I sat with her for a while as she interviewed Mr. Pliner. You can check out her interview HERE. He spoke about many things such as his travels, lady friends, inspirations, art, career choices and much more. He's one of those people who's a true visionary and truly passionate about his craft.

Donald Pliner stated that his shoes are for women who understand fashion and understand economics (basically she knows how to invest in a good shoe). She doesn't cover her style but rather embraces it. As you can see from these photos which are from his latest collection, he offers something for everyone... at least I think so. Whether you're a full on fashionista who loves bold colors, and embellishments or you're more of the classic lady, you'll find a fitting shoe in this collection.

One of my favorite things about his collection which he's very known for is the beading in some of his shoes. So beautiful! Also, I like people who add personal touches to their designs... Did you know he made the sole of his shoes green because it's the color of his wife' eyes?! Melts my heart.

Below is myself and Christie talking to Mr Pliner.

If you would like to learn more about the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund visit jdrf.org

Are you completely obsessed with one of the shoes above? Let me know!

Cheers!

C'mon Barbie, Let's Go Party!

Kali Uchis makes Colombian gals like me proud. I actually heard of Kali Uchis at first because I think my brother might be in love with her ha ha, I think she's super cool though.

The singer/songwriter is starring in a new campaign for Barbie by Sophia Webster shoes. Both women and kids can rock the collection, it includes sneakers, sandals and stiletto's. The collection was created to celebrate Barbie wearing flat shoes for the first time!!! Say What? Usually I would oppose to such things because growing up, Barbie was the illusion of a perfect woman for me... ya know... pretty hair, the perfect dresses and wardrobe, cute body with the tinniest almost impossible waist, and always a sick pair of pumps! But throughout the years and thanks to the media, we already have wayyyyy too many close to impossible goals for women. I think it's a breath of fresh air to see Barbie being normalized a bit and be seen more like an every day women in a pair of hightop sneakers. Amen y'all!

These butterfly stilettos give me total 90s nostalgia... I want!

The collection launches in Selfridges London and is online right now at sophiawebster.com. The collaboration is a continuation of the Barbie Fashionista campaign, which celebrates diversity with 23 new dolls, featuring 14 different facial sculpts, 8 skin tones, 18 eye colors, 22 hair styles, and 23 hair colors. I think it's a great message of positivity for the youth, especially young girls to make Barbie seem more approachable. We're living in a world were young teenagers are getting crazy unnecessary surgeries such as lip and butt implants for vanity and to feel beautiful. I know this sounds super corny right now, but beauty comes from within. You have to work with what you have. Having a big ass, tits, and a pair of heels on doesn't automatically make you beautiful. All races and colors are beautiful too! Get with it ladies! It's cool that the Barbie brand wants to celebrate diversity because so many young girls are obsessed with their dolls. Now maybe the dolls will look more like them.

The Barbie x Sophia Webster shoes can range anywhere from $150 to about $500. It is a special collection however, so if this is your kind of thing and you're looking for quality, I think it's worth it.

The designer said: "Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project, but getting to be a part of her embracing flats for the first time made it extra exciting, and deeply personal. I love that this concept strikes a balance between dreams and reality - the idea of getting Barbie in some hi-tops and setting her loose in East London instantly appealed."

Dope bags too!

What do you think of the collection? Think you'll get your hands on any of these items soon?

Make sure to follow Sophia Webster and Kali Uchis on Instagram for more updates and random cool stuff.

Lastly, for your viewing pleasure... Check out the Kali Uchis "Loner" music video.  Take in the cool beat, her soothing voice, and more of her sick, pretty in pink style in the dreamy video.

Cheers my darlings!

Zendaya Coleman has swag!

It's hard to believe Zendaya Coleman is only 18 years old. She quite the smart cookie. I first saw her on Disney and then on red carpets taking calculated risk. I think she has sick style and is totally drop dead gorgeous. She reminds me a lot of Aaliyah in a sense that she dresses like a tom boy a lot but is still effortlessly sexy.

Zendaya recently teased about her shoe collection "Daya" on her instagram and decided to debut it at the FN Platform at MAGIC in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

'“The kind of women we’re targeting are real women [who] want a good shoe they can wear to their job interviews, but still be stylish and not break the bank,” Zendaya told People. “But it’s not like that typical look for less. No, these are dope shoes and you don’t have to spend three years trying to buy them.”

I love how the collection looks so colorful! Bright pink, blue and teal. She also promised they're comfortable and that she will keep them under $225. The collection includes boots, caged sandals, pumps, sneakers, and more. The shoes will be available to purchase in 2016.

I Can't wait to see more bold career moves from this young lady! I hear she's dropping an LP soon and has been working with one of my favorite producers Timbaland! Dope stuff.
