In two days it will be the first official day of Spring. The weather has already started to feel warm & fresh. Everyone is starting to change what they're wearing along with their attitude. Light jackets are the new black. Spring breathes life into your wardrobe just as much as it does into your spirit. Skirts will reign and love games will take emerge into the air. I hope this Spring brings you balance.

It's that time of the year! All any of us could think of is the warmth, fashion, and beauty that will arrive with the Spring season. I can't wait for light jackets, cropped tops, long skirts, and tons of floral designs. Being able to have brunch while sitting outside sounds like a treat. Being able to lay on the grass with your shoes off while enjoying some music or a great novel sounds like a dream too. Spring also inspires creativity. Create some art and make magic happen.

Spring is the perfect season to let your skin breathe a bit. It's going to be so beautiful out, I'm going to try my best unless it's for a special occasion, not to layer on excessive makeup.

A Pop Of Color Can Make Your Day!

My Spring, Summer makeup is usually pretty simple. Bold lip, mascara and done! This year, I think I'm going to get groovy with a lot of bold eyeshadow colors. Realistically, I haven't played with eyeshadows in years... probably because I overdid it when I was 16-18 years old. I also love to experiment with brands and how good their quality and pigmentation is.

Hey Nubians,

Take a look at this super fun fashion editorial of model Nadia Araujo photographed by Arved Colvin-Smith for Hunger Magazine. I like the vibe this editorial has going on: Bold, Vibrant, Beautiful, Fun. I wear bright colors year round, but I like that during Spring and Summer I see more of it in the streets. It literally light up the streets! I get very inspired by that. I believe every person has an inner fashionista waiting to break out.

I like the mixed patterns and loose silhouettes theme in this editorial. The textures are off the wall! That's something I don't play around with so much and should, mixing textures. Nadia Araujo is also sporting the bold eyeliner beauty trend that has been floating around. It looks so pretty!

I enjoy seeing the movements Nadia Araujo is making while wearing the clothing, it's almost like she's the young, wild and free dancer. It also shows off the volume and details of the garments while they're flying in the air.

Absolutely smitten with these.

The Blueberry pleated skirt below is absolutely gorgeous.

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Have You Ever Tried A Chelada?

I've always heard of the Cheleda drink but I only took about 2 sips out of one before. I've drank Bloody Mary's which are a similar drink, but the Chelada uses beer instead of Vodka. I think some of you might really enjoy that! I personally enjoy a nice, cold beer a lot more than Vodka. Casa Modelo has released it's new drink the Modelo Cheleda Tamarindo Picante for Spring/Summer and it's pretty tasty. Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante celebrates traditional Mexican ingredients: Chipotle Peppers and Tamarind - to offer fans of Modelo a spicy yet sweet taste which is a combination everyone enjoys. It's definitely a distinct taste worth giving a shot. Also people swear by them to cure hangovers!

A Chelada is a Mexican alcohol cocktail made with beer, lime juice, and assorted sauces, spices, and peppers. It is served in a chilled glass with Tajin or Salt on the rimm of the glass. Those are the basic ingredients which some people customize. I love that the Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante saves me time by selling the drink in a ready to serve can.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante into the Casa Modelo family,” said Ann Legan, vice president of marketing for Casa Modelo at Constellation Brands. “The sweet flavor of tamarind, combined with the spice of chipotle peppers, delivers a well-balanced taste that honors Modelo’s Mexican roots and provides consumers with a truly unique flavor profile unlike any other chelada beverage offering currently available.”

Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante is produced with an ABV of 3.3%, and is now available at convenience stores nationwide for a suggested price of $2.99 for a 24 oz. can.

Watch this video of George and I trying the Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante for the first time and see what we think. It was a lot of fun making this video together and we both enjoyed the drink.

Here are 3 reasons to love the Modelo Cheleda Tamarindo Picante.

1) It's Ready To Serve. No hassling in the kitchen or making a mess. Just purchase a few cans and enjoy with your friends.
2) It helps cure hangovers! People swear by Chelada's as a hangover remedy which is why it's a popular drink to have during the day.
3) It's Sweet, Spicy and Refreshing! Perfect for Spring/Summer.

If you want to try something new pick one up at a store near you. Remember to drink responsibly!

Hey Nubians,

Spring Has Sprung!

I'm so happy it's Spring! Spring is such a transformation season and all over healthy for the soul. People are itching to switch up their fashion, hair and makeup. It's a great time to create an inspirational vision board and see what attracts you. As most of you know, I love colors. Spring is a great time to break out some cute pastel colors.

I noticed when it comes to beauty, Sally Hansen and Rimmel London have some gorgeous pastel colors you might want to pick up right now especially considering easter is around the corner.

Rimmel London: From total babe Kate Moss Nude’s Collection, these beautiful neutral pastels will add just the right amount of spring to your lips! These are the shades #40 and #41. 40 probably wouldn't work great with my complexion but it's still a great color.

The pink below is precious. It's from Rimmel London's new Oh My Gloss Oil Tint Collection. I believe the cover girl for this collection is Rita Ora.

Sally Hansen always nails (no pun intended) Spring time with their beautifully pigmented and innovative nail color collections! They are one of my favorite drug store brands. I remember when I was younger, it was always my mom's and my favorite go-to brand for color and quality. These shades are perfection from their Insta-Dri and Miracle Gel collections.

These are some cool drug store purchases that cost 10 dollars or less each. Looking fab on a budget is a good way to start the new season. Plus that means extra money for traveling :)

Who's super happy it's Spring?!?!

Hello Nubians,

"Fashion People Are Special People."

I heard that quote in a song once and thought it was simple and beautiful. Fashion has always been one of my favorite creative outlets which is why I pay attention to the streets and social media outlets such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc. for anything that inspires me or moves me. New York and Paris Fashion week are always fun to follow too.

I think my favorite season is Fall but I also love Spring because it's similar. You can dress with a skirt but a light jacket, that kind of thing. Plus we usually look at it as a time to sport lighter colors. I don't really know who created these rules... Light Colors Spring, Summer, Dark Colors Fall, Winter... I think they were following the Sun. I don't follow any style rules or trends to a T but they do influence me a bit.

Below are some of the trends I've slowly had my eyes on that I think will make your a stylish gem this Spring.

Platform or Flatform Shoes

Do we have any Spice Girls fans here? Well rejoice because platforms and flatforms are back in style. I was always a fan of them for height reasons haha I like to wear heels but can never survive in them for too long. I've always been a fan of TUK Creepers. These shoes are from Gucci, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana and Proenza Schouler runways shows. Use them as a source of inspiration. I'm really loving those Gucci ones with the buckles even though the whole look doesn't make much sense. Somehow they still make me gravitate towards them. (Stop it Nubia!)

Color Craze

Anyone who reads my blog knows I'm a fan or bright colors and color blocking. The brighter the better! Don't be afraid or colors my friend. Yellow is supposed to be especially popular this season but I'll probably stick more to pink, purple, orange and blue. Color therapy can do wonders for the soul.

The looks above in order are from Emilio Pucci, Tibi and Hermes Spring 17 runway shows. The Hermes is my favorite. It screams 80's and I love the waistline.

Embroidery & Strong Patterns

I love embroidery and honestly haven't rocked it an amazing piece of clothing with embroidery on it for years! This is something I am definitely going to be on the hunt for. I would love to find a nice embroidered denim jacket. These photos are from Gucci Spring 17. Funny one of the models is wearing flatforms and also I've digging the over sized glasses.

Ruffles/80's Glam

Lastly another look I haven't sported in a long time is ruffles. I always thought they were so elegant and romantic. I'm looking forward to finding a nice ruffles off the shoulder top. These jaw dropping, gorgeous dresses are from Zimmermann.

Good luck switching up your wardrobe. Wishing you all fabulous fashion and enjoyable warm weather.

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Beautiful Nature.

I wanted to share this editorial with you I found extremely inspiring. Models Maartje, Xiao Wen, Ine, Grace, Poppy, Pooja and Alisa all look gorgeous for Vogue March 2016 photographed by Willy Vanderperre.

What I enjoyed most about this editorial is the botanical feel to it. Talk about Spring inspiration, you've hit the holy grail here! The models are rocking garments from the spring collections of Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi & more.

From floral mohawks, Poison Ivy vibes, flower crowns on steroids and more, you will want to go revamp your accessories and wardrobe after this one. The colors, ruffles, embellishments, textures, and all around details are ridiculously mesmerizing. Enjoy!

Hey Nubians,

"Nails Are The Period At The End Of A Sentence. They Complete The Look"

It's been a while since I've done a Manicure Monday, it's probably because I've turned to the world of gel nails. As much as I love switching up my nail polish every week, the sad truth is I just don't have time! Not to do them nicely anyway.

My inspiration behind these nails is Spring! I'm so eager to smell Spring in the air. I miss Spring in NY. It's not quite the same in Vegas. Here in Las Vegas we already have Spring weather right now.

I adore pastel colors and added the silver to give the mani a little extra spark. I got these done at a Salon and the gel nail polish brand I used is OPI.

I'm thinking of getting a gel lamp and starting to do my own nails soon... We'll see.

Waiting for Spring claws 💅🏼 #pastels #mani

Hello My Beautiful Nubians,

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” - Anne Frank

I'd love to see more beautiful women wearing head scarves... you know, in the form where it almost looks like a hoodie. This trend was pretty popular anywhere from the 1950s-1970's. The greats in my book such as Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and more used to were their scarves like this.

I wish this trend was seen around more, especially now for Spring fashion. It's great to block the sun and it looks very elegant. ALSO, this trend can also MAKE AN OUTFIT. There are so many bold colorful scarves and scarves with fascinating prints and patterns on them... really it could turn into a gorgeous thing.

A fun retro look! Seen a lot on the pinup scene too. Below you'll see I wore my Wonder Woman gla.MAR.ous head wrap in this fashion. I plan to buy a bunch of cute scarves and do it more often.

Of course I had to make my look super colorful and animated because that's just simply who I am. Although I love my all black outfits here and there, I believe fashion should be fun and colorful!

What do you think about the scarves? Is it something you're into?

Hello My Beautiful Nubian Queens and Kings!

Hairstyle can very much make or break an outfit sometimes... seriously, have you ever noticed that? If you have an a gorgeous outfit but your hair looks BLAH, none of your photos will come out looking good I guarantee it! Nice cool hair is absolutely something you should always keep up with.

During Spring/Summer braids seem to be quite the lifestyle. For the most part braiding is easy and if you don't know have to make a specific braid, you can view one of the thousand tutorials up on YouTube (sheesh even I have some HERE). Also, a lot of braids can add cool texture to your hair and quite frankly they're just very fun!

Below see some photos for your viewing pleasure and inspiration of some of my favorite braids for this season.

Cage Herringbone Braid.

As seen in the Suno Spring 2015 collection at New York Fashion Week, here you have the Cage Herringbone braid. It looks like an exaggerated fishtail braid and is elegant and beautiful. Photo via.

Milkmade Braid.

The Milkmaid braid never seems to go out of style for me. I find it very flattering towards most face shapes and you can stick in a few flowers in your hair to make it look like a crown, divine! Photo via.

The Low Bun Braid

Incorporating a braid on top of a bun or around a bun is definitely a stand out hairstyle and fairly simple to achieve. The looks very gracious styled while wearing a dress for an event or gala. Photo via.

Messy French Braid.

I find messy braids to be very sexy! This messy french braid can easily be achieved by grabbing more ad more hair as you braid. Also *tip* Any braid that you know how you do will look a lot more edgy if you just mess it up a bit and make it look a little crazy. Photo via.

The Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid is one of my favorites because you can play around with it so much to make it look different and it's sooooo easy to do. I love how in the photo above its fishtail/pigtails, very cute and dainty. I would say the fishtail is almost as easy to do as a traditional 3 strand braid for me. Photo via.

Anyways kiddies, I hope these photos inspired you to go out there and achieve some cool braid hair styles of your own. Trust me, don't get intimidated! It looks a lot harder than it really is sometimes.

Which one of these is your favorite?

Cheers!
