"Fashion People Are Special People."

I heard that quote in a song once and thought it was simple and beautiful. Fashion has always been one of my favorite creative outlets which is why I pay attention to the streets and social media outlets such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc. for anything that inspires me or moves me. New York and Paris Fashion week are always fun to follow too. 

I think my favorite season is Fall but I also love Spring because it's similar. You can dress with a skirt but a light jacket, that kind of thing. Plus we usually look at it as a time to sport lighter colors. I don't really know who created these rules... Light Colors Spring, Summer, Dark Colors Fall, Winter... I think they were following the Sun. I don't follow any style rules or trends to a T but they do influence me a bit.

I love embroidery and honestly haven't rocked it an amazing piece of clothing with embroidery on it for years! This is something I am definitely going to be on the hunt for. I would love to find a nice embroidered denim jacket. These photos are from Gucci Spring 17. Funny one of the models is wearing flatforms and also I've digging the over sized glasses. 


Ruffles/80's Glam 

Lastly another look I haven't sported in a long time is ruffles. I always thought they were so elegant and romantic. I'm looking forward to finding a nice ruffles off the shoulder top. These jaw dropping, gorgeous dresses are from Zimmermann.

Comfort is Sexy! 

I bumped into this editorial of Frederikke Sofie by Josh Olins for WSJ Magazine and I'm feeling the vibe! This girl just looks so comfortable and sexy in her own skin. I find that to be very attractive. I love to dress "glam" every-so-often but I've always leaned way more towards an urban flair. It's interesting to take a beautiful dress or outfits that look like they should be dressed up and dress them down. It's kind of fun when you see the shock reaction this causes for some people too (damn zombies). If you have the right accessories, the right hair and makeup and the confidence to top it off, I think you'll look radiant anyway. Not to sound corny but BEAUTY COMES FROM WITHIN! That's right!

Fall Footwear...


I've always loved Chuck Taylor Converse Sneakers for the Summer. I think my passion for Converse started with my Father loving them. When he first arrived to the United States from the Dominican Republic he purchased a pair and fell in love with how comfortable and breathable they were. He started a collection of sneakers. His favorites were the Navy Blue sneakers that looked like denim, the ones with the American Flag, and the Olive Green sneakers. 

I never really thought much about Converse shoes past the Summer, but lately I've been appreciating their boots. I'm thinking of adding a pair to my Fall/Winter wardrobe.

Trick or Treat? I'm sure most of you ladies are getting comfortable with the Fall season. Looking through your clothing and pulling out all of your light jackets and sweaters, figuring out what trends you want to follow, denim? velour? So many options. I just flew back to Las Vegas from New York and it's already getting pretty chilly out there. Vegas is slowly getting nippy too. 

Also let's talk Halloween! I LOVE Halloween. Probably more than Christmas. One of my favorite things to do besides going out to enjoy the fun decorations is staying home and watching retro Halloween cartoons and films. I like watching the friendly films such as Hocus Pocus but then I also like watching the more brutal films like Halloween/Michael Myers & A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Rachel Antonoff has been dropping a lot of teasers on the new Betty and Veronica fashion collection she's been designing for Archie Comics. I think she's a fantastic pick for the designer.  Needless to say I'm utterly excited but a bit concerned at the same time about the collection. I'm only concerned because I'm a fan of the comics and of their style which has mainly always ranged from a 50s pinup girl to a 70s chick rocking bell-bottoms. . I read that Antonoff was also a fan of the comics at a young age so this puts my mind at ease a bit, I'm sure she'll honor the characters. There was always a lot of fun prints, sweaters, cardigans, varsity jackets, form fitting dresses, headbands, high-waisted skirts & jeans plus much, much more.

If you haven't read the comics before, this would be a good time to pick one up. Betty and Veronica are the best frenemies out there and might have one of the longest love triangles in history. They're always fighting for Archie's love which seems a little silly and perhaps doesn't send the best message to women BUT it does make for some fun comedy and a cool comicbook that many people love. Plus let's get real, girls fight over guys all the time, it's real life!

According to Racked, The Rachel Antonoff collection will launch this Fall online and it's going to be a full blown collection. By Spring, the collection will offer 80 pieces priced from $78 to $398 all inspired from the comics. They also mention the collection is meant to evoke what Betty and Veronica might wear in 2016... That sort of scares me a bit because I'm kind of obsessed with the trends they were rocking in the comics. Luckily a lot of those fashion trends are on their way back this Fall 2016 so it should all work out *fingers crossed*.

Cute Accessories Can Make An Outfit! 



A few years back, I was obsessed with Betsey Johnson Purses. I'm not quite sure what happened or why I stopped paying attention to them but I simply did (Boo me!). Lately however, she's been on a cuteness overload mission with her handbags. I simply can't stop starring at them! A lot of them almost resemble cartoon characters or a cartoonish art style. Not only are they adorable, but they are so fashionable. I think every fashion forward girl needs to get her hands on one of these stat! My style is very playful which makes me further appreciate her creations. 

Below I've decided to highlight my top 5 favorite bags from her website at the moment. 

KITSCH WHALE COSMETIC CASE ($58.00)
I think whales are interesting creatures and this one just happens to be... a bit girly? Who can't appreciate a whale with a bow in her hair! Cosmetic case or not I will rock this as a purse.

OK, I eat Avocado a freakishly overwhelming amount. I find this wristlet super kawaii and unique. 

KITSCH FISHY CROSSBODY ($88.00)
I am smitten with the detail on this adorable fishy! Take a look at those scales, super cool! The teal color pop is also perfect. This would make a great Summer purse. 



KITSCH OCTOPUS COSMETIC ($50.98)
Another cosmetic bag I would rock on the regular. I think this one might be my favorite out of all of them. I love this octopus lady's style. The color is precious, her eye makeup is sexy, her pout is cute and to top it off, she's wearing pearls! I'm in love.

I was looking at an editorial from Vogue Japan featuring Mae Lapres and Madison Stubbington photographed by Alexandra Sophie. 2 photos that stood out to me specifically because I thought to myself *beauty alert* were the photos with colored eye lashes! I love my makeup and I know so many of you ladies do too. We've seen this trend before but I have a feeling it's on it's way for a major comeback 2016.

I think this is a beautiful look for eye makeup especially when you have barely any makeup on or very natural looking makeup. It makes your eyes POP! 

What do you guys think? Are you into colored eyelashes? A lot of brands like Butter LONDON, NYX Cosmetics, L.A. Colors and more sell pretty colored mascara.

There has been a fun new hair trend floating around on the internet lately, glitter hair! More like glitter roots actually. I myself wouldn't rock it during the day, but I think it's super fun and flirty for night life and partying. A good trend to kick up your beauty & hairstyles up a notch. I also believes it plays off your natural hair color growing out against your hair dye.

Is There Ever A Season Where Denim Isn't Appropriate? 



I was shopping around on the web when I dropped by http://www.simons.ca and saw this photo of a pretty lady wearing a denim jacket. All of a sudden it hit me how much I LOVE denim. It's just so comfortable and reliable.

Denim also has this all American feel to it... kind of like the girl next door vibes, it's classic. After the 4th of July passing by and having to read about Ariana Grande making rude remarks about America... I'm feeling a bit patriotic. You can also wear it year round which is a huge perk. There's vest, shorts, jeans, jackets, headwear, and even more risky items I probably wouldn't wear such a purses (though I might have owned one in my childhood). I often turn to red lips, a plain white tee and a nice pair of denim shorts as a chic go-to outfit Summer outfit.

Ladies, having manicured nails is so important! Sometimes I feel as if we can easily overlook something as small as our nails if we're not careful. If you really think about it however... everyone can see your hands at all times! So it's important to keep them pretty and make a good impression. Plus, you don't always have to do it for others, do it for yourself!

If you remember in my John Frieda and NYC New York Color Beauty Haul post I talked about how I've been enjoying using the new app and it's fun features. I wanted to share some of my favorite brands and colors of nail polishes I'll be rocking this summer. I often do my nails myself (DIY chick) to avoid going to salons every week.

I'd love to see more beautiful women wearing head scarves... you know, in the form where it almost looks like a hoodie. This trend was pretty popular anywhere from the 1950s-1970's. The greats in my book such as Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and more used to were their scarves like this.

I was browsing online the other day and bumped into these fierce bad boys. For a moment, I think I heard them whisper "I want to be in your closet". I am completely smitten with the Adidas Y-3 Kitaya shoe. It looks like the boat shoe of the future with a sexy silhouette. To top it off it's a slip-on. I consider it fashion at it's best when I see a fresh to death shoe. Metallic red and gold make them even more fun and funky and I can only imagine the styling possibilities.

Summer has NEVER been my favorite season of the year. As a matter of fact, when I want blazing hot weather, I rather travel to a tropical island for it. I much prefer Spring or my favorite which is Fall. There's something beautiful about Fall... The air feels so crisp, the leaves may die... BUT the transformation is beautiful! and they have that crunchy sound when you walk on them.

There's so many nice warm colors, Greens and oranges. Not to mention you get the return of the... wait for it... PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE. If you have a boyfriend you get to cuddle more because it's that time of the year when it starts to get chilly and he keeps you warm... Damn I love Fall. 

 It seem's like once again plaid is going to be quiet popular this year. I love really mixing stuff up a lot so I made this collage for me and hopefully you to get some inspiration.

Not quite sure what I make of this. But I'm about to spill 2 facts on you about me....

1) I love jumpsuits.
2) I really love old school loud patterns similar to the ones I saw on The Cosby's growing up. I think I can picture Lisa Bonet in this ensemble. Big ups to tribal patterns.

Anyway I thought this building lobby was the perfect place to shoot this outfit. The color scheme is awesome and it's pretty.

I decided to participate in this weeks IFB Project I put together "What's your Style Decade?". I thought about this long and hard and decided I fit mainly somewhere between 90's grunge/urban hip hop and a fun, colorful, animated, japanese inspired look. 

I grew up with 2 older brother doped up on Wu Tang Clan. Yes, Thats me... The girl that knows every Wu Tang song by memory haha #ThingsYouProbablyDidntKnow. I love hip hop from the 90's more than I enjoy Hip Hop now, I'm very selective. As I got older I merged a bit into rock on my own and sort of combined the 2 on my iPod.

I also tend to play a lot with vintage inspired looks and a small, very small dash of prep BUT I'm totally about nitty gritty New York City the most #Pow.

This is what I'm currently into. I would have to say I fit into 80's/90's/ and the present. Very often I merge into other decades because I love to change it up constantly. I'm like a jack in the box.
