My Favorite Season Has Arrived And The Air Is Crisp As I Love So Dearly.

I had this outfit post in my drafts section for about a month and then I took another hiatus from my blog. I know, I've done this often within the last year or so... perhaps too often, but I can't continue to write when I'm not inspired anymore. It's wasteful and disrespectful to my craft, myself, and my readers.  I must conserve my inspiration for projects I can fully immerse myself in. A burnt out person is not a happy person at all. The internet finally took a toll on me sometime last year and I felt my brain was FRIED. I've been working in Social Media Marketing for 10 years now, way back when everything was starting and now the internet has become overwhelming and full of so much nothing. I see too much garbage out there and distasteful clutter that doesn't help or encourage anyone. I've taken a break from my Social Media & Copy Writing career with companies for now ... and maybe forever. I'm going to pursue other projects and refresh my mind. I will still be online and on my blog sharing things I love such as fashion, reviews, geek culture, creative story telling, etc. I'm hope to spread inspiration & positivity to others and I will do that by respecting myself first.

On a happier note, isn't this outfit cute? My friend took these photos about a month ago, and when I was looking at them today I thought, these colors are perfect for Fall! Green, orange, mustard yellow, burgundy, ugh! I can not wait to start wearing sweaters. This outfit has very much a hippy girl vibe to it. The shoes are from Donald J Pliner and the dress was a gift from my mother, I believe she picked it up a a random boutique (not sure the name). The awesome sunglasses are from ALDO.

Lastly...

Thank You Lord! Fall Is In The Air.

I was looking on the streets for Fall fashion inspiration this week but it seems even though the weather has cooled down and the air is brisk, it's still a bit too early. Therefore, I did the next best thing and started looking online at editorials from different September issues from magazines. I was quite smitten with Yumi Lambert for Vogue Australia photographed by Jackie Nickerson. I think the whole team from styling to makeup & more delivered excellent work.

Hey Nubians,

By Halloween Nails, I Meant A Sweet Cameo By Michael Myers Himself!

I wanted to give myself a 'Fall is approaching' manicure but didn't want to go straight for orange or hunter green which are usually my go-to colors. I decided to do a cool grey nail. I had the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color 'Show Steeler' nail polish which I had never used and it was just what I was looking for. Perfection. I love the color! It's a little something different. It dries very quickly which is a big perk for my clumsy butt and it has a pretty shine to it without needing a clear top coat. My nails feel so pretty. I'm very picky with nail polish but I highly recommend the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line. I've had good experiences with it. I despise when the color on my nails chips quickly and that doesn't happen with Insta-Dri.

Hey Nubians,

I've Always Enjoyed Daydreaming. I've Always Liked The Thought Of Being Somewhere Else ...

I was catching up on my editorials and I felt the need to share Stella Lucia by Txema Yeste for Numéro #175. The editorial seems like a day dream to me. It's also a good example of when fashion meets art and self expression. There's a bit of UFO/extraterrestrial vibes to the editorial and a lot of it also screams empowerment.

Sometimes we daydream to find our own safe heaven, at least I know I do.  A place where we can be ourselves without anyone interrupting our happiness or passing on judgment no matter how weird or crazy you want to be... doesn't it sound lovely?

If this photo doesn't scream empowerment I don't know what does. Stella Lucia does an amazing job at remaining fabulously calm and fierce while a snake just hangs out on her cheek bone like home sweet home. The sweater she is wearing with the pearl embellishments has my Fall style goals written all over it. The minimal makeup is painfully delightful too.

Model: Stella Lucia
Photographer: Txema Yeste
Stylist: Tallulah Harlech
Hair: Soichi Inagaki
Make-up: Victor Alvarez

How often do you daydream? What do your Fall Fashion goals look like?

Cheers!

Delpozo Brings You Knits On Another Level...

This spanish houses first Pre-Fall 2016 line up has left me wanting more! Josep Font did a brilliant job with this Delpozo Collection. My hat goes off to him and I'm left in utter awe, it's pure art. Font looked for inspiration in the works of Mexican architect Luis Barragán and the photography of Japanese artist Nobuyoshi Araki just to name a few. Araki is known for his floral photography and you will see that inspiration reflected in the collection throughout the day wear.

I believe what has me fully entranced with this collection besides the use of color (because you all know I'm a sucker for color) is the voluminous silhouettes. Some of these combinations you wouldn't usually think look good off the bat but they've been put together beautifully. Other glorious features seen in the collection are oversized prints and embellishments. There are handmade vinyl brooches on the collars and shoulders that make many of these pieces look even dreamier. It's such a nice compliment for the clothing.

Lastly for me the knitwear was the star of the collection. There are exaggerated wool and cashmere pieces I'd love to get my hands on. Crazy cool fringe, pops of color, and texture play can be seen all over the place.

Pieces from Delpozo will run you a pretty penny (over 1,000 for a knit top) but if you're looking to make a real investment in worthwhile fashion that will never be dated and that you can even pass on to your feature daughter, I would definitely recommend you check out this collection. It's like collecting art as long as you know how to take care of your clothing and cherish it.

What do you think about the collection?

Cheers!
