I'm So Excited To Be Watching Marvel Comics The Avengers: Infinity War Tonight!

I've heard ridiculously amazing things about the movie. Getting to see some of my favorites such as Iron Man, Thor, Spiderman, Captain American, and more go up against Thanos is going to be epic. I grew up on Marvel Comics more than DC Comics, therefore, they hold a special place in my heart.

GIRLS RULE THE WORLD!

The Ladies from some of my favorite TV shows such as The Flash, Jessica Jones, Riverdale and possibly Charmed, have been kicking ass lately! It's so much fun to watch how the women's movement is all over the place. Literally, everywhere I look, pure magic. I love my comicbook shows. Marvel comics, DC comics & Archie Comics are working on some real gems. Even Charmed eventually released a comicbook published by Zenescope Entertainment.

Hey Nubians,

Remember Back In 2013 When Bryan Singer Played This Cruel April Fools Joke On Us?

Well, I think we were all reminded of Lady Gaga as Marvel Comics X-Men's Dazzler after last nights Super Bowl Halftime show.

I mean ...

Hello Nubians,

"So here I am. Back on Earth. Johnny Blaze rides again."

This year at New York Comic Con I brought back my Marvel Comics Ghost Rider Cosplay I debuted last year. It was a lot of fun and still one of my favorite cosplay looks till this day. It's a cool gender-bend and I love using the molded wig/hair as the visual for flames. My sister-in- law and cosplay partner in crime for the last 2 years Kaori molded the wig and applied my makeup while I hunted down all the pieces from the costume. I've been cosplaying for so many years now that I finally got around to making a cosplay box for all of my makeup, costumes, props, & more.

Hey Nubians,

When you think back to Full House doesn't your heart melt a bit?

Such a classic show with a touching story line that stole our hearts. Who can forget the intro song? Along with the visuals, it was like a
mini episode of how sweet the family was. The into song was 'Everywhere You Look' performed by Jesse Fredrick.

YouTube user Zach decided to take the power of the Full House theme song and video and pass it along the Marvel Comics 'The Avengers'. I must admit, it was done quite well. He used movie clips and a few gag reels.

"Avengers: Full House," is arranged where Captain America is cast as Danny Tanner; Black Widow as D.J. Tanner; Bruce Banner as Stephanie Tanner; Iron Man as Uncle Jesse; Thor as Uncle Joey; and Hawkeye as Jesse's girlfriend Rebecca. Of course he had to cast Elizabeth Olsen, who played Scarlet Witch as Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen who played played Michelle Tanner. Well played Zach... well played.

Hey Nubians,

(Cover art for La Boriquena, Marvel Comic's Puerto Rican superhero.)

I originally read about La Borinqueña and her super powers on NBC News Latino and thought I had to share the news with my readers. Brooklyn-based Marvel Comics writer Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez is the brains behind La Borinqueña. As a latin woman and comic culture lover, you can imagine my excitement! La Borinqueña is a New York-born superhero who discovers her superpowers when she visits the island.

“The very DNA of my existence comes from my Puerto Rican identity,” Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez told The Washington Post.

La Borinqueña has 3 impressive superpowers the derive from nature. She flies fierce as the winds, possesses super human strength of ocean waves and can teleport wherever a Puerto Rican needs her.I guess you can almost say she's a Puerto Rican guardian angel.

Puerto Rico is going through a difficult financial crisis at the moment and La Borinqueña is a symbol of hope and power for many. They can get through it and come out winning!

I love the cover art for many reasons. First off, her superhero costume is beautiful! A red, white, and blue spandex bodysuit (Puerto Rico flag colors) and I adore the fact that her body isn't being overly exposed like many female comic heroines. She looks sexy and elegant. I also appreciate that she's a woman of color, with a healthy looking body... for example, not overly skinny with a ridiculously small waist. I'm sure all woman can appreciate that because that comicbook industry has been 'Meh" when it comes to female body representation. The cover also contains many respected Puerto Rican individuals such as Hector Lavoe whos music I still occasionally jam to on Pandora and Justice of the Supreme Court Sonia Sotomayor among others. What a great way to rep Puerto Rico!

La Borinqueña is the first superhero to be endorsed by the Puerto Rican Day Parade, which takes place on June 12. The comic book, however, won’t launch until October at an event titled Café Con Comics, organized by Miranda-Rodriguez with CUNY East Harlem campus; and in Puerto Rico on December 17 and 18 at the Aguada Comic Con Fest.

Proceeds from the book sales will raise money for the Puerto Rican Day Parade scholarship fund.

I am very impressed by this project and think Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez is a bit of a superhero himself!

What do you think of La Borinqueña?

Hey Nubians,

Let's talk about Kay Pike!

I was looking at INSIDER designs Facebook page when I found Kay Pike. A 28 year old bad ass body painter. She is literally bringing comic book characters out of the pages and into the real world with her body paint. Her work is insanely detailed and it looks very animated. A lot of these look way cooler than wearing a costume. I would love to do something like this for Comic Con one year.

If you're a fan of comicbooks you will definitely be a fan of Kay Pike. She's done kick ass characters from Captain Marvel, Poison Ivy, Robin, Deadpool and more. She has been livestreaming her work on Twitch which is awesome! It can take up to 15 hours but you get to see step by step how she does everything. The real deal, no editing or anything because it's live. It's a great learning experience and you'll also fall in love with her bubbly personality, she's fun to watch. Besides this she does modeling as a career.

Kay Pike is hoping to transform her body painting hobby into her new career and I seriously wish her the best of luck because it's out of this world.

Photos and video via Kay Pike Instagram.

Visit her on Twitch HERE so you can see her schedule.

Poison Ivy I painted on http://www.twitch.tv/kaypikefashion last time, and I am painting Again Tomorrow! I really like Pamela IRL. Ivy fights for the world itself, she is like Captain Planet... but a bit of a sociopath. :D Poison Ivy=planeteer haha.  I actually really prefer the New 52 Origin to the old one, its a little more twisted and human and convoluted. Shows she is indeed a neutral character, and ironically very human.  You'll find the animation appropriate as it refers to her M.O. *blows you a kiss* and personally my M.O., long time lurkers know what I am talking about :D This is the exact same wig I used for Starfire too~ a matilda in pumpkin from @ardawigs #poisonivy #bodypaint @ithurman @neilhimself @jimleeart @clarefoley123 @claregrant @milano_alyssa @tarastrong514 @jimmypalmiotti #redhair #yyc #calgary #bodyart @twitch @kryolanofficial @mehronmakeup @mehroncanada @sephora @bennyemakeup #mehronmakeup #kryolanofficial #mehron @wolfefaceartfx @ardacanada #makeupartistsworldwide #makeup #mua #makeupartist #comic #comicbooks #cosplay #cospaint #twitchcreative #twitch #dc #fanart @amazingmakeupart #beauty @comicbookresources  @geekfantasymagazine @comicsandcoffee @comicbookresources @geekculture @badasscosplay @epiccomicpics #wig @suicidesquadmovie #suicidesquad #ArkhamKnight #GothamCitySirens #dccomics #batman #PamelaIsley #green

This is the Captain Planet Bodypaint I painted on http://www.twitch.tv/kaypikefashion Tuesday night! “We need a super hero for the Earth. Let's call him Captain Planet" No other cartoon I watched as a child has had as much impact on my day-to-day adult life. This show respected it's audience. It was a ridiculous cartoon, yes BUT it got a young persons mind thinking about more going on in the world, not just the TV in front of them. This show handles and delivered to kids way more mature topics then any got anywhere else. Disease, desolation of species, environmental impact, racism, cultural-ism, economic and political issues etc. We got SO much more out of this show then others presented to us. I like being engaged with the real world. and Captain Planet really is my hero. :) #captainplanet #planeteers #eco #ecofriendly #environment #green #planet #earth #superhero #power #retro #cartoon #90s @twitch #twitchcreative #artist  #creative #art #paint #painting  #bodyart #illusion #opticalillusion #facepaint #facepainting #mua #bodypaint #makeup @kryolanofficial #paradisemakeupaq #mehron #mehronmakeup @mehronmakeup @mehroncanada PS. So many of you were asking in stream so here a special make-up hint I made this ridiculous florescent turquoise skintone that was soooo violent and radio-active looking on camera "Captain Planet Cyan" with 1 part Paradise Teal 1 Part Lt.Blue + 4-5 parts white.

This is the Two-Face we painted on http://www.twitch.tv/kaypikefashion last night (and today technically) this one was very detailed, very very detailed. But a beautiful image, (thanks twitch chat for suggestion) It was fun, @lustredust came over and we did a tandem paint. It was so fun, but so tired. IReally looking forward to the photos on this one, even though it isn't full body the feedback so far has been good! If you want to have a look at the images right now I'm streaming on twitch #getmygoodside #dontgetexcited #wetwetwet @dccomics #batman #gotham #twoface #harveydent @twitch #twitchcreative #art #artist #paint #makeup #twoface @batman #dc @batman.official 3bodyart #yyc #streaming #live #kaypike #painting

There is only one who is all powerful, and his greatest weapon is love.
-STAN LEE, Silver Surfer

Hey Nubians,

This past weekend I felt like looking awesome but also keeping it casual with an outgoing, chill outfit. You know how it is ladies, some days we're all about our heels and slacks but other days... we want to just lay back a bit. I bumped into a pair of leggings I purchased at New York Comic Con that had totally disappeared, I couldn't find them anywhere. The leggings resurfaced this past weekend and they're full of Marvel Comics characters such as Spiderman, Deadpool, Captain America, Black Widow and more.

I love a good comicbook. I seriously think they're good for your soul as strange as that sounds ha ha. They take you to a world of endless possibilities and have SooOOoOoOooOoo much history and drama in the story line. You also get to enjoy the art in the comicbooks. Sometimes if you close your eyes, you can see the characters moving like an animated series... I swear, it's true.

I often get asked the epic question, Marvel Comics or DC Comics? I think at different times I've given different answers. It depends when you catch me and probably what I'm reading or what shows I'm into. For example, lately I've been on a real big Marvel Comics kick. I recently started reading Spider Gwen and I binged watch the crap out of DareDevil and Jessica Jones on Netflix.

One of the cool things about shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones is that you don't even have to like comics to enjoy the show. Everything starts from the beginning. You get the whole back story and have to prepare yourself for the grand ride. Who knows, after you watch the show you might want to pick up the comicbook (that would be cool.).

Wearing: Basic V neck from H&M, Marvel leggings from We Love Fine, Sneakers from Superga.

Who else gets happy when they walk through crunchy Fall leaves?

These Superga sneakers are a great statement shoe. Silver, studded and so much fun to wear. I could probably get away with wearing these for a Silver Surfer cosplay.

Spider Gwen #1. Hoping to get a sketch done on the cover by Robbi Rodriguez one day.

How's everyone been spending their holiday season? Hopefully with lots of spiked cider, wine, good food and lots of love.

Cheers!
