Hey Nubians,

"I don't know the future, but the past keeps getting clearer every day." -I Fight Dragons

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of 'The Goldbergs'. I live for all of the nostalgia and trips back in time the show helps me take. I also happen to be a BIG fan of their wardrobe! Head of Wardrobe & Costume Designer, Keri Smith, does an amazing job! The colors, patterns, texture, & DENIM, DENIM, DENIM! It's awesome. They also have a great hair & makeup crew too.

Hey Nubians,

Gosh I can't wait for Halloween...

Which is one of the reasons I loved receiving this email from Mezco Toyz. I became a big fan of Mezco Toyz about 2-3 years ago because of the detail that goes into their action figures and dolls. They design & create comic, TV, movie, and pop culture action figures for all ages.

I've been yearning for Fall lately and I'm a big time lover of Halloween. It's always been my favorite Holiday. I love horror movies, even the ones that actually manage to scare me (there aren't many). I was smitten when I saw The Living Dead Dolls Resurrection X collection . The Mezco Living Dead Dolls are eery as hell and quite popular! These are already sold out! *sigh*

I still wanted to share them because I admire the craftsmanship. I mean realistically, picture one of these on your bookshelf... you might be inspired to write a novel based on the creepiness alone. It's like they stare back. I love them! They make parts of me happy. They're also wearing real clothing and come in a coffin which is pretty sweet.

"This extremely limited edition set entombs four dolls from previous series reimagined and "resurrected" with a new, terrifying look. Join us as we once again reawaken the dead in this tenth resurrected series.
The dolls that comprise Resurrection Series X are:
  • Angus
  • Purdy
  • Tessa
  • The Lost
Each doll stands ten inches tall, has five points of articulation, and features real cloth clothing. Each doll comes in their own coffin box with a special opaque lid. The glossy ebony cover helps not only to block the light, but to highlight the silver foil accents adorning their name plates. The coffin itself has been reimagined with a sleek monochromatic black on black design specific to this series.
Resurrection X is limited to only 250 sets within the US."

As I mentioned prior these are sold out for now. But if you're into collecting or gifting amazing figures and dolls, follow Mezco Toyz online on their social media channels - FB - Insta - Twitter.
Check out this awesome The Living Dead Dolls 'Showtime Beetle Juice' you can pre-order now. Worth every penny.

What do you think about these Mezco Toyz Living Dead Dolls? Do they feed the dark places in your soul?

LEGO Slippers Can Make A lot Of Us 'Ouch' A Little Less.

These LEGO slippers are pretty damn cool. I read publications spreading the news about these a few days ago and all the headlines spoke all about how fortunate and great these are for parents... what about for kids and teens?! They should make these in all sizes!

When I was younger, I very much enjoyed playing with LEGO's. I used to try to build houses and communities... they're a great toy to be creative with. However, I used to step on them all the time! It was always so painful and annoying.

According to piwee.net, the LEGO brand has teamed up with French advertising agency Brand Station to create 1,500 pairs of the slippers with extra padding to prevent the pain you get from steeping on a LEGO. The slippers will be distributed randomly to people who fill out a Christmas wish list on the LEGO France website.

They'll make fun little Christmas gifts and hopefully they continue making them in different styles.

What do you guys think? Hit or miss?

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Are you guys familiar with the Lazy Oaf?  The brand started out on Spitalfields Market in East London, Gemma Shiel founded her cult graphic illustration label in 2001. The line consist mainly of t-shirts, bodycon skirts and jersey dresses all with super fun and in most cases girly or pop culture focused prints.

What draws me in the most is how it appeals to my personal style. Very colorful, playful, and still sexy without having to show too much of your body off.

Anyways, I wanted to post some photos from the Summer 2015 collection and lookbook for inspiration purposes. Most of these styles are loose and flow off the body nicely. The look so breathable for Summer too which is GREAT.

I've also grown to be smitten with the Lazy Oaf lookbooks. They are always so magical and full of life. Some of them in the past have been very sci-fi inspired which I love and they always have a bit of a retro vibe to them.

Love this raccoon print. I remember being horrified anytime I saw raccoons late at night in my hometown of Queens, NYC. The only raccoons that are cute and pretty adorable are the baby ones.

These huge pink bears are totes adorable and I can't get enough of these sweet pineapple boobs.

I also like the fact that Lazy Oaf does a lot of pink puffy stuff all the time on its tees or as you can see here on these socks and hats. It reminds me of something out of the late 80's or early 90's. Like something that could have been out of the Clueless movie perhaps?

Fuck Yes!

3D. It looks like these spheres are popping out at me.

If you enjoy these looks, you can shop Lazy Oaf at ASOS.

Hello Nubians,

Leave it to social media to get me smitten with #ManicureMonday. Thanks to instagram and tumblr, I'm constantly bumping into so much nail inspiration. Sometimes unfortunately... I'm not located near certain salons, but it's still great looking at the photos for ideas and to try to do something similar.

Recently via instagram I found I Scream Nails located in Australia (Melbourne and Sydney) and fell in love so hard. I adore bright, bold, colorful, and unique designs. I also am fascinated with things that involve pop culture icons or trends whether it be Hello Kitty, Aliens, Pizza, Watermelon, etc.

Here are some of my favorite photos from the I Scream Nails instagram page. I hope you enjoy the manicure photography and get inspired to create something beautiful.

Déjelo a las redes sociales para enamorarme con #ManicureMonday. Gracias a instagram y tumblr, constantemente estoy inspirada. A veces desgraciadamente... No estoy ubicado cerca de ciertos salones, pero es todavía gran mirando las fotos de ideas e intentar hacer algo similar.

Recientemente via instagram encontré I Scream Nails ubicado en Australia (Melbourne y Sydney) y me enamore.

Hello Nubians,

I found this cute little shop while browsing on instagram that I just had to share with you all! As a lover of most things pop culture or cult oddities, my jaw immediately dropped when I saw these accessories. Let me introduce you to Night Owl Designs.

Ever watch a movie or show, hear a song or play a video game that just sticks with you forever? A girly girl that loved Alicia Silverstone in Clueless or a Comic Book Geek that enjoys a little snooch to the nooch with Jay and Silent Bob? Ever stay up late nights watching Nick at Nite and being glued watching marathons of The Adams Family, The Wonder Years, The Cosby's, Rosanne, etc? Ever go crazy staying up late nights trying to beat Super Mario Brothers? You can see where I'm going with this. All of the above was pretty much my childhood.

Night Owl Designs takes popular characters or celebrities and puts them on earrings, necklaces and more. The accessories are very modestly priced starting at about $8.00 for a pair of earrings you won't find just anywhere. From what I read on the site the charms are made from ink jet shrink film and coated in acrylic for added durability. Ear wires are surgical steel and jump rings are base metal. Light, Fun and I bet they would absolutely be conversation starters.

You can find nostalgic accessories from characters such as Bevis and Butthead, Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer, Beastie Boys, Wizard of Oz, The Breakfast Club  and SO MUCH MORE.  I am completely  obsessed with what this designer is doing because to me, everything I see on the site is a classic and takes me back to a very happy place in my life.

Below check out some of my favorites from Night Owl Designs and make sure to visit their website and follow their social networks Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook. There's so much more to see.

 David Bowie Earrings.

Princess Buttercup and Wesley from The Princess Bride.

The cast of Clueless.

Jay and Silent Bob.

Cliff and Claire Huxtable.

Gremlins set of 5 Christmas ornaments.
 JD and Veronica from Heathers.

 Pretty In Pink Light Switchplate.

Three's Company earrings.

The Shining Light Switchplate.

Hello Nubians,

Did I ever tell you how easily I get bored? SUPER Easy. I think that's why I work in social media and blogging... things are always moving and changing. With that being said, I always surf the web looking for things out of the norm. Cool clothing or objects that I find interesting. I was just thinking about how they'd make cool gifts, so many birthdays and holidays lately.

Batman Socks:
Socks with a cape! ha. Being the batman lover that I am, these are rad. I would wear these over stockings with ankle books so the capes could float around as I walk. Totes DIY potential also.

Camera Lens Stainless Steel Mug:
This one is pretty self explanatory. I have so many creative friends that would appreciate this.

Tetris Stackable LED Desk Lamp:
A video game playing, pop culture lovers dream come true! Well maybe not dream, BUT it's a bad ass desk accessory. I want one of these!!!

8-bit Tablet Sleeve:
I'm a lover of anything 8-bit. I think this is a fun tech intercessory and definitely a conversation starter.

Sunshine Tee:
This tee is a cool mix of the classic movie Little Miss Sunshine and Mario. TOO GOOD.

Pollos Tee:
If you know anyone who loves or is starting to watch Breaking Bad, buy them this tee. You can thank me later. This could also be a cool gift with the show's first season on DVD or something along those lines.

Zombie Romance Tee:
Twas a popular year for zombies. I just happened to think this was a cool design.

The Life Tie:
For the men in your life, I love gifts that can put a smile on more than person. Learn about The Life Tie Project.

"The Life Tie Project is a philanthropic neckwear collection donating 25% of proceeds towards a curated portfolio of innovative cancer research & patient care foundations (while the remaining 75% keep The Life Tie Project running.)  In light of recent events, their holiday collection tie, the Charles, funnels proceeds to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. New York may recently have been the epicenter of disaster, but it's always the epicenter of fashion, so the Charles tie takes a sartorial departure from the other neckwear with its updated, skinny look. Rolled up as pictured in the attached image, the Charles tie is sleek and small enough to stuff in a stocking for your man or Dad this Christmas."

I hope you enjoyed the items on the list or maybe it gave you some inspiration for your tech/pop culture/tv loving friends.
