Flash Review: Quick And To The Point.
Slashers are highly beloved in the world of horror. I recently watched Slasher: Solstice, Season 3 on Netflix. Slasher originally debuted on Chiller before it found its new home. If you're into seriously gruesome murder scenes, I'd absolutely give it the time of day. If you're looking for a solid story... it's not the worst. Read my flash review below and find out why.

The new year is a great time to reflect on your life and the company you keep. After binge-watching Netflix's YOU, which initially aired on Lifetime based on the novel written by Caroline Kepnes, I was reminded of how much harm you can cause yourself and your mental health specifically by having a toxic best friend or friends in general. 2019 needs to be about loving ourselves, and that has a lot to do with the company we keep.

Fall is by far my favorite season for TV shows and Movies. It's actually hard to keep up with everything because there is so much! Some years the entertainment isn't that great while other years it's phenomenal. I'm feeling pretty great about this season so far. It's showering me with great entertainment and there's a lot I have to look forward to.

Netflix has dropped a teaser for its Sci-Fi hit show 'Stranger Things' season 3. It is quite the treat especially if you grew up in the 80s or 90s.

I Was SO Moved When '13 Reasons Why' First Premiered On Netflix.

I previously knew about the '13 Reasons Why' novel written in 2007 by Jay Asher and then, I heard Selena Gomez was involved with turning it into a show for Netflix. I am so excited Season 2 has a premiere date.

GIRLS RULE THE WORLD!

The Ladies from some of my favorite TV shows such as The Flash, Jessica Jones, Riverdale and possibly Charmed, have been kicking ass lately! It's so much fun to watch how the women's movement is all over the place. Literally, everywhere I look, pure magic. I love my comicbook shows. Marvel comics, DC comics & Archie Comics are working on some real gems. Even Charmed eventually released a comicbook published by Zenescope Entertainment.

Hey Nubians,

"I don't know the future, but the past keeps getting clearer every day." -I Fight Dragons

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of 'The Goldbergs'. I live for all of the nostalgia and trips back in time the show helps me take. I also happen to be a BIG fan of their wardrobe! Head of Wardrobe & Costume Designer, Keri Smith, does an amazing job! The colors, patterns, texture, & DENIM, DENIM, DENIM! It's awesome. They also have a great hair & makeup crew too.

Hey Nubians,

Who saw the latest episode of CW's The Flash?!

Wasn't it absolutely AMAZING? I don't want to give any spoilers away but my goodness, I was tearing up during certain scenes. I can't wait till next Tuesday! On another note, You know who always looks gorgeous and beautiful in an absolutely sinister way? Killer Frost AKA Caitlin Snow played by Danielle Panabaker. Her makeup always looks flawless even after one of her crazy battles with Barry or Cisco.

I noticed this week on instagram, The Flash makeup artist Kari Anderson shared the products she used to keep this frosty villain looking badass and chilly. I'm a big fan of some of the brands she used such as Urban Decay, Kat Von D Makeup, MAC Cosmetics, NARS & more. See the instructions on her post.

I thought it was a great post to share because whether we're cosplaying for a Comic Con or sometimes dressing up for Halloween, we could easily get stuck on finding a good color and making sure it's good quality. These all seem like quality products and I have experience with many of these brands.

The lips use a variety of products. Have fun making it work.

I hope we get some closure on The Flash next week. Maybe there's hope for Caitlin Snow yet...

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

New Reading Material...

I went to my local comicbook store Alternate Reality Comics the other day and asked the owner to recommend some good comicbooks. He's pretty cool so of course he was delighted to do so. One of the comicbooks he pointed out was American Gods published by Dark Horse comics based on the Award Winning Novel written by Neil Gaiman. I've heard of Neil Gaiman before because of his novel Coraline which later became a 3D stop motion film but I haven't read or heard much about American Gods. The comicbook was written by Neil Gaiman and P. Craig Russell with art by Scott Hampton.

The novel as well as the comic book revolve around Shadow Moon who was in prison and got released a bit early due to a tragedy in his life. On his way home, he bumps into a guy who changes his life. The story is mythical and well... has to do with Gods.

Watch me talk about the comicbook and the story in the first issue which doesn't real much yet but I know a little bit more because of the trailer. Also hear my first impressions on the Starz trailer.

American Gods is also about to become a show on STARZ developed by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green. I saw the trailer and it looks super interesting. The first eight episodes are set to premiere on April 30, 2017. Watch it below.

I highly recommend you pick up the comicbook and check out the show too. I'm excited to watch! The second issue of the comicbook drops April 12th so keep an eye out for it.

Cheers!

Hey Nubians,

Where there is no imagination there is no horror.
-Arthur Conan Doyle

I saw the Tales From The Crypt Concept Trailer by M. Night Shyamalan which will air on TNT and I must say as a horror fan I am immensely excited. I will be glued to my television! This show the same as the original which aired on HBO from 1989 to 1996 will be based on the popular comic series from EC Comics. I've always been so interested in M. Night Shyamalan and have so much respect for him because he's a risk taker and I love that! He might not have as many 'hits' as some other directors but he has a deek, dark, and vivid imagination. I would love to pick his brain. I recently watch "Split" which I enjoyed and was very creepy & "The Visit". Both of them had an interesting twist.

See the concept video for Tales From The Crypt:

It looks so damn good! Thought I do fear that fact that it will be on TNT but hopefully that won't be a huge deal. This trailer showed suspense, freaky shit like people in a trance jumping off buildings or in gas masks, insects, the forest, paranormal aspects, & more. I like how M. Night Shyamalan mentioned that Tales From The Crypt was before it's time because I'd have to say I agree. I also likes how he refers to the Crypt Keeper as a "Dark Walt Disney" because Walt Disney was a person who was a great host and took us to this magical, wonderful place he created. I believe the Crypt Keeper does the same in taking us to a dark and eery place where we have to face our fears and he hypnotizes us and locks us in. I remember when I was younger I would turn on the original Tales From The Crypt on HBO sometimes (my parents weren't aware I was doing this) and I would have to turn it off at some point of the episode because I couldn't deal with the fear that was building up in my body. I would feel my heart slowly beating harder and harder against my chest. What is it about fear that almost makes it such an adrenaline rush. I remember closing my eyes slowly trying to fall asleep that night and then quickly opening them because I FELT the fear. I felt like there was something in the room with me. Probably not the best feeling for a young girl haha but I have been a horror fan my whole life growing up after that.

And I very much did love the Crypt Keeper because he was wicked. I use the word 'wicked' because he was scary but laughed about it and has quite the humor. He laughed at your fear and toiled with your emotions. He was an entertainer! I'm very please that M. Night Shyamalan is keeping this classic character as part of the show.

Now, Here's Why Horror Fans Will Enjoy This Much More Than American Horror Story... It's Quite Simple Really... IT ACTUALLY LOOKS SCARY.

(This clown was pretty freaky though)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing American Horror Story at all. I'm a fan of the show and have watched every season. It's just that I don't find it very scary truly. I look at it more like creepy, bloody, story telling. But it doesn't do 'that thing' for me. That thing that makes terror seep into my brain and crawl under my skin. I do think most seasons have had good story telling, and they have a stellar cast. I love Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and look forward to the return of Jessica Lange hopefully and maybe even Connie Britton now that she's done with Nashville. I find it entertaining more then anything else with a bit of blood splatter. Take AHS season 3 for example 'Coven', I enjoyed it but it was like a mix of Mean Girls mixed with The Craft. For reasons like these, I believe true horror fans will enjoy the Tales From The Crypt reboot more. I believe M. Night Shyamalan has a vision that we're all going to be pleased with. I guess we'll see if I'm right or wrong. I will continue watching American Horror Story because I enjoy it regardless (even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Roanoke.)

Anyway, I'm super excited for Tales From The Crypt to begin and I hope M. Night Shyamalan makes it genius.

Will you be watching? Thoughts?

Cheers!

So Have You Watched Project Runway? This Is The Cosplay, Geek Loving Version!

I'm a big fan of cosplay and have been cosplaying for a few years now. I even wrote an article about how much I love going to Comic Con and dressing up as characters I like from Dc Comics, Marvel Comics, Video games & more. I'm also a big fan of the DIY (Do It Youself) community. For this reason I'm super excited about Syfy's 'Cosplay Melee' Competition series. I think cosplay has affected peoples lives in a magnificent way and broken plenty of people out of bubbles. It's such a supportive, fun, positive, community in my experience.
